Your assignment for October 4 is to share a favorite family photo(s)and tell us why this particular photo means so much to you.
I used this photo for Fun Monday on Monday, April 14, 2008. This is me and my Dad, in 1958. I love this photo. My Dad was the best Dad in the world. He's been gone been gone since 2002; and I still think that When my sister and I were growing up, Dad took us all over the country during our summer vacations. We saw the US, except for FLA, and New England, for some reason. When we were teens, he took his vacation so he could chaperon, our scouting/camping trips; there were boys involved, including our future husbands, and he wanted to be there for us. Please be sure to check out the other participant's favorite family photos here.
it is a blessing to have a dad like that.
ReplyDeleteMy husband was always very involved with the girls lives.
What a great Dad you had...you have not changed much at all Jan! My Dad passed away when I was seven and it left a big void in my life. I was always envious of my friends and their relationships they had with their Dads. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGood to have close ties! Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo of you and your Dad, Jan. I'll bet you have so many great memories with him.
ReplyDeleteA wise dad knows the benefits of being involved with his girl's social life. Apparently he knew how to "oversee" without putting too much of a damper on the courting. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you joined Fun Monday again. We'd gotten to the point that it was too demanding and fogotten the "fun."
Terrific picture, Jan. I guess all of us little girls miss our dads.
ReplyDeletePictures with great memories are the best. Since this was 1958, you must be sitting on a brand new Chevy.:)
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. It brought a little tear to my eye, because I thought my dad was the greatest too.
