Overall, Bob's doing great. The main thing is no set-backs. She, (and I), wasn't very happy with his weight; he's put on about 1/2 of what he lost when he was so ill. He wants to stop going to PT, and she vetoed that. He has to keep going to regain more strength. She also tweaked some of his meds, which is always good. He left the office feeling good about going forward with his recovery.
We got to the office early so I took a walk around the Banker's Hill area of San Diego. Above are a couple of the photos I took. The top one is a great example of a mid-century home. I'd love to see the inside. The middle photo is someone's herb/veggie garden, right next to the sidewalk. Sure looks inviting.
We had a Groupon from City Delicatessen, right in Hillcrest. The food was great. While we were eating, I noticed a 40ish woman come in, wonder around, then sit a one booth, then move to another. They brought her a menu and water. She sat reading the menu, drinking water and eating free pickles for the longest time. I went to the owner and said that I thought she didn't have any funds. He said he didn't know her story, but she comes in and sits a lot. (I was very impressed with him. How many cafes would allow this, not many.) I told him that I'd like to buy her lunch, but I didn't want to approach her. He was very grateful and said he'd take care of it. I gave him some money and the waitress approached the woman to let her know someone had paid for her lunch. We left shortly after.
All in all, it's been a great day.
Be well and do good,
