Retirement, again

prytz family blog retirement

I worked my last shift at B&N, yesterday.  I really didn't want it to be a "big deal".  By big deal I mean I didn't want a party, cake or hula girls, really it's not my style, and those things are normal at the bookstore.  I didn't tell anyone in advance, other than the management team that I was leaving.  Yesterday, I told a couple of my favorite booksellers that were working at the same time.  I really got an outpouring of love and disappointment.  Soon the word spread and I was getting hugs as they went off shift.  It was really nice, and I reassured them that I'd be in the store as a customer.  How could I not!

In addition, one of the new managers that I've only worked with for a few months, took the time on Saturday to call me at home.  She said how much she was going to miss me because she always felt she could count on me and knew I would always take care of what needed to be done.

The work day was "normal", one lost child, lots of great customers, only two VERY demanding customers, (the last two of the day); just a normal work day at B&N, the kind of day that kept me going back for almost 12 years.  It was sweet, but now it's over and time to move on.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing my life with me,
